Why is this so important?

Because, Fibroids are today one of the top 3 major health issues impacting women aged from 21 to 50.

I, and countless women across the world, have lived through life-changing fibroid symptoms and our family, health and professional goals have been affected in a major way.

In this article, I will be telling you that there is a way to live with fibroids while limiting the horrible symptoms that can get in the way of achieving your life goals.

My message to you is that you can “keep calm and fight fibroid dominance”.

That a simple but effective 30-day challenge can kick start my journey to stop fibroids from dominating your life.

So what are Fibroids?

Fibroids are non-cancerous growths that grow in or around the womb (uterus) - NHS.

Unfortunately, the problem is that many women may be living with fibroids growing in their womb, but don’t know it.

They may not show the symptoms just yet, but the risk of being dominated still remain.

However, if you are one of those women, I have created a quick and simple risk quiz here.

Alas, what some women do is to just sit and wait without action.

The following fact indicates why this is not a good idea:

“By the age of 50, up to 80% of women will have developed fibroid growth(s)”

This means that even if you have:

  • not had a diagnosis or
  • been diagnosed but not yet shown the symptoms of fibroids or
  • fibroids and show symptoms

it makes perfect sense to get together your plan of action and fight fibroid dominance right now.

Living with Fibroids or Not..Should I Care?

Crucially, the consequences of not caring or not taking action can be devastating to your health and life goals.

In my situation of living with fibroids, the constant pain and heavy and long menstrual periods resulted in a lack of self-confidence.

Unfortunately, it also eroded my belief in progressing my career and providing a better life for my family.

But after taking medical advice and doing some research, I came up with a plan of action that put me on track to a better life, where I was in control.

I started with a challenge to myself:- a 30 day plan where each day involved an action which helped me achieve that target of avoiding fibroid dominance:

  • I kept it simple for a reason, as my life was as a  busy working woman meant I could not afford to be overwhelmed.
  • A short diary on paper was created by me and an action written down for each of the 30 days.
  • I then fixed it to my refrigerator door and ticked off each action as completed on each day.

You see, there was one thing I learnt:- I am capable of being consistent and taking action to achieve a goal.

As a result, it was such a success that I have decided to share this 30-day challenge for the benefit of other women.

However, an important thing to remember is that this challenge is not a cure for fibroids.

It is simply a set of actions that you can take to make living with fibroids that more bearable and through limiting the dominating signs and symptoms.

So what is the 30 day challenge?

Put simply, a set of effective actions that will help you to fight some dominating features of fibroids.

As a result of you going through and completing the challenge, you will see a difference.

Some actions relate to diet, exercise and mental well-being.

For example, on day 7 the action is to 'Take a 30 minute Power Walk'

And studies show that these are major contributors towards overcoming the symptoms for women who live with fibroids.

In addition, these actions will help improve your quality of life anyway.

You may find that some of the actions are not for you.

But, there are no hard fast rules here:

If it doesn’t work for you, change it to something else as long as the end goal stays the same
